About the Charity Selected

We are very excited about the charity for this year’s event. It has special meaning for the staff of Hines Park Ford and we are hoping to raise a nice sum of money for the cause. The charity is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It is in honor of Kelly Donehue who has been an employee of Hines Park Ford. CF is a genetic disease and Kelly has battled it her whole life. The debilitating disease does not have a cure as of yet. The CFF has made great progress over the years leading to longer life expectancies; which at this point is just under 40 years of age without additional complications. One of the medications that is making a major impact in Kelly's health is Kalydeco (aka VX770). The CFF donated $75mil to research and create this new drug. We are pleased to announce that in March, Kelly underwent a double-lung transplant and is recovering at incredible speed! The money raised from this event will allow CFF to continue to help other patients like Kelly in dealing with the disease and further research in hopes of finding a cure.
